A small amount of stress can be a healthy source of motivation. However, in today’s fast-paced, high stressed society many of us can feel easily overwhelmed. Layer in structural issues like homophobia, racism, ageism, transphobia, etc and it can really feel like too much. Our speaker will help us address and identify meaningful ways guys into guys can help manage it all to lead more balanced lives.

Our presenter:
Christopher Hnain

Chris has a Masters in Educational Counselling from University of Ottawa, and currently works as a counsellor for the Ottawa General Hospital, and as an EAP counsellor for Health Canada. His clients come from diverse ages and backgrounds, and typically have concerns with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, and addictions. He also works with individuals from the GLBTQ+ community, tackling issues around shame, homophobia, coping with HIV, and trans issues.

Chris employs an integrative approach to his practice but focuses on applying Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness to help clients achieve their goals and find balance in their lives.

Outside of counselling, Chris enjoys teaching yoga at various community organizations and fitness studios in Ottawa.
