What's happening this month?

We are reading Time Was by Ian MacDonald in March.

Yoga takes place at the Centretown Community Health Centre (420 Cooper Street) from 5:15-6:45. The class is free of charge and open to all guys into guys from novice practitioners to experienced yogis. If it’s your first time, check in with Joa (our instructor) and he will get you set up and ready to go. Blocks and mats are provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer!

PrEP! AKA as Truvada, the blue pill, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, has become routine for many guys into guys. However, there are still questions and issues related to access and affordability. Dr. Paul MacPherson from the Ottawa Hospital returns for PrEP School 2! He’ll give us updated information about the drug, answer questions, and help you decide if its right for you!

Our presenter:
Dr. Paul Macpherson is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, a specialist in infectious diseases at the Ottawa Hospital, and a clinician-scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and holds an OHTN Research Chair in Gay Men’s Health. Dr. MacPherson obtained his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley and his MD from McMaster University. He has an active practice in infectious diseases with a focus on HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and leads a research team examining ways to improve access to and retention in culturally specific healthcare and delivery of HIV prevention strategies for guys into guys.
